Kannur: The Kannur Warriors Football Club visited the press club as a guest. Key figures such as head coach Manuel Sanchez, captains Ubaid C.K. and Ernestin Lovesamb, and attacking player Muhammad Sinan, who set up two goals in the first match, attended the event organized by the Kannur Press Club.
Coach Manuel Sanchez expressed happiness about returning to football in Kannur and pride in playing in front of their fans for the second season. He mentioned they are preparing a strong team and believes this season’s Super League is even better than the last.
Sanchez noted the improvement in Indian players’ standards. He observed significant changes in their mentality compared to the previous season, and their skills are getting better every day, even though they often go unnoticed. Captain Ernestin Lovesamb, a player from Cameroon, said the foreign players arriving for the upcoming season will need to put in substantial effort, having learned a lot from Indian players.
Ubaid stated that the team aims to reclaim the title lost last year and emphasized that everyone is working hard.
Next Match Against Malappuram FC
In their second match of the Super League, Kannur Warriors will face Malappuram FC. The match is scheduled for Sunday at 7:30 PM at the Payyanad Stadium in Manjeri. The team is heading into the match with confidence after a strong performance against Thiruvananthapuram in the first game. The team will leave for Malappuram on the morning of October 11, 2025, and will practice at the Kottapadi Stadium in the afternoon.
