Real Madrid‘s Kylian Mbappe missed several matches due to a left knee injury. Initially, he tried to play through it, but the club and medical staff decided it was best for him to rest and recover rather than risk further damage.

He made a comeback against Atletico Madrid in a 3-2 El Derbi victory, showing good form off the bench. It is uncertain if he will join the French national team for the upcoming March international break, but he seems ready to contribute to Real Madrid when the league resumes in April.

However, rumors often surround Mbappe, including claims that he has been sitting out games to save himself for the World Cup. He previously won the tournament in 2018 and was a runner-up in 2022, despite a strong personal performance against Argentina.

Kylian Mbappe is loyal to Real Madrid

Mbappe has firmly dismissed these rumors. He stated to reporters, “People saying I’m managing my minutes at Real Madrid to keep myself healthy for the World Cup? This is NOT a conversation. I’ve played two World Cups; I won one and reached the final in another. I prepared for those by playing EVERY game with my club. I want to play ALL games with Real Madrid. This debate is a joke.”

Mbappe has been dealing with his injury while striving to win matches for Real Madrid, even during challenging times under coach Xabi Alonso. His determination to play through discomfort was partly to support Alonso, as he felt empathetic towards him.

Despite facing criticism and being labeled selfish at times, Mbappe has remained a standout player for Real Madrid since his arrival from PSG. He has handled the scrutiny with grace. His statements should address any concerns regarding his commitment to the team.
