Los Angeles FC has extended forward Denis Bouanga’s contract until 2028.
This announcement was made on Wednesday and includes an option to extend through the 2029-30 season for the 31-year-old player.
Bouanga has been an MLS All-Star and part of the Best XI for three consecutive seasons. He holds a franchise record with 105 goals and 43 assists in 155 appearances since 2022.
He played a key role in LAFC’s victory in the Supporters’ Shield and MLS Cup in 2022, and he is the first player in league history to have three straight seasons with at least 20 goals.
“At this club, performance matters,” said LAFC co-president and general manager John Thorrington. “Denis has shown exceptional performance since he arrived, helping us win several trophies. This new contract reflects his contributions. We are proud of his achievements and look forward to continuing our success together.”
Bouanga scored a goal and provided an assist in LAFC’s 3-0 victory over Inter Miami, the reigning MLS Cup champions, in the season opener last Saturday.
“I am thankful to LAFC for their trust in me,” he stated. “From the start, my family and I have felt at home in Los Angeles. It’s an honor to represent this club and our supporters whenever I wear the jersey. I believe in our vision and am eager to improve, win more trophies, and elevate this club even further.”
Originally from France, Bouanga represents Gabon internationally and has scored 17 goals in 53 matches.
