The North and South American club calendars are getting busy as leagues and competitions approach critical stages. The 2026 Leagues Cup schedule has been released, and qualifying matches in South America are heating up, creating several important storylines this March.

MLS and Liga MX Unveil Leagues Cup 2026 Schedule

The 2026 Leagues Cup is set to take place from August 4th to September 6th. Following the North American World Cup and the CONCACAF Champions Cup, clubs from MLS and Liga MX will compete for regional pride and prize money.

There were talks about hosting more matches in Mexico, but only four games will be held in the country. Toluca will organize two hometown matches, while Tigres and Club América will each host one. The rest will be played in the United States.

Match venues are still pending, but significant matchups are already noticeable in the Leagues Cup schedule. These include LAFC vs. Chivas Guadalajara, Toluca vs. Seattle Sounders, Cruz Azul vs. Philadelphia Union, Inter Miami vs. Monterrey, Pumas against FC Cincinnati and Columbus Crew, Tigres vs. Vancouver Whitecaps, and Club América vs. San Diego FC.

Copa Libertadores Third Stage at Stake

The four ties in the third stage of the 2026 Copa Libertadores remain competitive as they head into the second leg next week. Juventud and Independiente Medellín ended in a 1-1 draw at Juventud’s home ground. O’Higgins won 1-0 against Deportes Tolima, while Sporting Cristal secured a 1-0 victory over Carabobo. Barcelona SC managed a 1-1 draw with Botafogo at home.
