Derby County has made it clear that Patrick Agyemang is not for sale at a low price. Any club looking to acquire him this summer will need to pay a substantial fee. According to Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, journalist Pete O’Rourke explained that Leeds United has been monitoring him for months, but Derby is very hesitant to part with one of their key players. Agyemang joined Derby from Charlotte FC in July 2025 for about £6 million and signed a four-year contract until 2029. His performances have significantly increased his market value since then.

Leeds United Transfer News: Derby County Demands High Price for Patrick Agyemang

The forward, born in Connecticut, has scored ten goals and provided four assists in 33 Championship matches this season. His contributions have been crucial in keeping Derby in eighth place, just three points away from the playoffs. At 6ft 4in, his physical presence and skillful play back up his record of five goals in 12 caps for the United States Men’s National Team.

O’Rourke emphasized that Derby intends to keep Agyemang unless their promotion efforts fail, noting that Leeds would need to offer a significant amount to initiate negotiations. The asking price has likely risen above the initial £6 million, with his current market value now estimated around £7 million, projected to increase with each goal he scores.

On the Football Insider podcast, Pete O’Rourke stated: “He’s been a long-term target for Leeds. If they remain in the Premier League, they’ll have the funds to strengthen their squad. Agyemang has had a strong debut season with Derby, and the fee they paid likely reflects that. Derby has no real plans to lose him, but if they fail to gain promotion, several clubs will likely be interested in him during the summer transfer window.”
