Tottenham’s ‘dream summer target’ caught Liverpool‘s attention.

Tottenham Hotspur is focused on staying in the Premier League as they approach the final 12 matches of the season. Interim head coach Igor Tudor needs to help the club avoid further relegation concerns.

This season, Tottenham has struggled to score goals and create chances. The absence of key players like James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski has notably impacted the team, while new signing Xavi Simons has yet to make a mark.

Before adding Simons from RB Leipzig, Spurs showed interest in Morgan Gibbs-White. When his transfer from Nottingham Forest fell through, they turned their attention to Eberechi Eze, only for Arsenal to sign him first. Tottenham also considered Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers.

Liverpool in talks with Morgan Rogers

Morgan Rogers, one of the promising young talents in the Premier League, has made a strong impression at Aston Villa, scoring eight goals and assisting five in 26 league matches. His performances have caught the attention of top clubs across Europe.

According to a report from CaughtOffside, Liverpool has engaged in initial discussions with Rogers’ representatives about a potential summer move. The player is reportedly open to various offers. However, Aston Villa has stated they will not accept bids below £100 million for him.

Liverpool isn’t the only club interested. Despite previous challenges in 2025, Tottenham is still monitoring the situation. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano noted that Spurs see Rogers as a high-priority target this summer, but attracting him without Champions League football could be challenging.

Rogers would significantly enhance Tottenham’s squad, bringing creativity and goal-scoring ability. His versatility and tactical awareness would also boost the team’s overall performance. He has already shown his capability to contribute at Villa, and there’s confidence he could replicate that at Spurs.

Despite this, given Tottenham’s current struggles and lack of direction, their chances of competing with Liverpool and other top clubs for Rogers are slim.
