Malappuram: As the Super League matches approach, Malappuram Football Club has strengthened its defense. The club has signed Spanish center-back Seeker Osserinho Riguey. The 28-year-old defender has played for several clubs across Spain. With his impressive performance in Spanish leagues and years of professional experience, Seeker aims to be a key player for Malappuram in their quest for the title.
Seeker is also a former Spanish youth international, representing the country at various levels from under-16 to under-19. He captained the Spain under-18 team that won the Atlantic Cup in 2015 by defeating Portugal, Costa Rica, and the Canary Islands. This will be Seeker’s first experience playing in a league outside of Spain. He joins Malappuram FC from Spanish third division club Som Maresme FC, where he has appeared in over 41 matches.
Seeker began his football journey in 2007 at Athletic Bilbao’s academy. He progressed through Bilbao’s youth and reserve teams into professional football. He has also played for several Spanish clubs, including Toledo, Peña Sport, Real Sociedad, Cornellà, Real Betis, Sabadell, Ebro, and Logroñés. Since Malappuram FC has a Spanish coach, Seeker should adapt quickly to the team’s strategies.
