Luca Langoni contributed significantly with a goal and an assist as the New England Revolution secured a 3-0 win against CF Montreal on Saturday. Goalkeeper Matt Turner had a strong performance, making five saves for a clean sheet.

Langoni opened the scoring in the first half and assisted Mamadou Fofana, who netted his first MLS goal. This win improves New England’s record to 2-3-0 (6 points) and keeps them unbeaten at home.

Peyton Miller added another goal for the Revolution, marking a successful history against Montreal at Foxborough, where they now hold a 10-6-2 record.

Montreal, on the other hand, remains at a disappointing 1-5-0 (3 points) after suffering three consecutive losses. Their goalkeeper, Thomas Gillier, made two saves during the match.

Leading 1-0, Fofana extended the lead in the 77th minute by redirecting a pass from Langoni into the net. In stoppage time, Miller finished the scoring with a cheeky chip over Gillier.

Montreal almost equalized early in the second half, with Dawid Bugaj hitting the crossbar in the 58th minute, while Hennadii Synchuk forced a save from Turner with a header.

Langoni’s scoring began in the sixth minute when he capitalized on a rebound from Dor Turgeman’s shot, marking his first goal of the season.

Montreal’s best chance came shortly after, when Efrain Morales headed the ball over the bar. Turgeman nearly doubled the lead in the 16th minute but hit the post instead. Brandan Craig’s header for Montreal was collected by Turner in the 33rd minute.

The match saw Revolution head coach Marko Mitrovic receive a red card in the 34th minute for contesting a yellow card issued to Will Sands.

This match was the first of two encounters between Montreal and New England, with the teams set to meet again on August 1.
