Manchester United hasn’t achieved a Premier League double over Crystal Palace since the 2015/16 season.
Under Michael Carrick’s leadership since January, Manchester United has shown significant improvement. They remain unbeaten in their last six matches, with five wins and one draw, bringing Champions League qualification within reach with 11 matches left this season.
Carrick aims to secure a second consecutive victory against Crystal Palace on Sunday, following a recent 1-0 win against Everton. A win would elevate them above Aston Villa, securing third place.

Crystal Palace has been a challenging opponent for United lately, as it has been a while since the club managed a league double over them.
In November, United came from behind to win 2-1 against Palace, with goals from Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount in the second half.
At that point, Oliver Glasner’s team was performing well and was in the top half of the table, but circumstances have changed since then.
Currently, United sits in the top four and may move to third place. This progress under Carrick contrasts with Ruben Amorim’s earlier season results.
The next step for Carrick and United is to defeat Palace, aiming for their first league double against them since Jose Mourinho was in charge in the 2017/18 season.
Palace has managed to take points from several teams near United in the standings this season, including Aston Villa, Chelsea, and Liverpool.
Carrick must ensure his players remain focused, as a win here could be vital for gaining momentum for a strong finish to the season.
How Mourinho Achieved the League Double Over Crystal Palace
The last time United completed a double over Palace was during the 2017/18 season, with the first match in September ending 4-0 at Old Trafford.
United’s attacking performance was strong, leading to a 4-0 victory. Juan Mata scored in the third minute, followed by two goals from Marouane Fellaini, and Romelu Lukaku capped it off with a fourth goal.
In March 2018, United faced Palace at Selhurst Park, winning 3-2 after being down 2-0. The comeback was highlighted by goals from Chris Smalling, Lukaku, and Nemanja Matic.
