Manchester United is expected to be without Mason Mount and Lisandro Martinez for their match against Aston Villa on Sunday.

The team wants to recover from their recent defeat against Newcastle United, which was their first loss under Michael Carrick.

Aston Villa is also in need of a win, having gone three Premier League matches without success. They aim to secure points at Old Trafford to avoid dropping further in the standings, particularly with Liverpool and Chelsea close behind. Both teams currently have 51 points.

Mason Mount’s Return Remains Uncertain for Manchester United

However, according to reports by The Sun’s Samuel Luckhurst, Mount was absent from training. The journalist mentioned that Carrick expected the midfielder to be back “very, very soon” at the start of February after he sustained a minor injury during training. His ongoing absence raises concerns about a potential setback.
