Manchester United did not sign any players during the January transfer window, despite having options available. INEOS had opportunities but decided not to pursue a Brazilian player.

After United’s 1-1 draw with West Ham, it’s clear that one area of the team needs strengthening.

Michael Carrick has helped stabilize the team, but breaking down defensive opponents remains a challenge.

Bryan Mbeumo assisted a late goal, but his overall play on the left wing wasn’t effective. Carrick has not yet found a suitable replacement for Patrick Dorgu, even with options available in January.

Despite issues at left wing back in January, INEOS opted not to make signings. This choice is increasingly questioned as Mbeumo continues to struggle.

The club had the financial capacity to sign players and was willing to act when opportunities arose. A notable missed opportunity was Rayan, who joined Bournemouth as a replacement for Semenyo.

The Brazilian winger was linked with a move to Old Trafford and was regarded as one of South America’s top young talents.

Bournemouth acted quickly, and he has made an impact in the Premier League, with two goals and one assist in his first three games.

Rayan was signed for £24.7 million, a transfer that is proving to be a sound investment for Bournemouth, while United contemplates what could have been.

Andoni Iraola is already impressed by Rayan

Bournemouth’s recent signing Rayan has made a strong start in the Premier League, impressing manager Andoni Iraola.

The left-footed winger has scored twice and assisted once in just three appearances since joining from Vasco da Gama.

Though it’s early, Rayan’s contributions have given Bournemouth a solid start in their January dealings.

Iraola has appreciated Rayan’s early performances, noting his character and personality as valuable additions to the team.
