Manchester City is skilled at identifying top talent and often signs players before they become widely recognized. Recent examples include Julian Alvarez, Rayan Cherki, and Jeremy Doku.

The club is looking to add another center midfielder amidst ongoing speculation about Rodri, the Ballon d’Or winner, and potential interest from Real Madrid.

According to German journalist Patrick Berger from Sky Sports, City is considering former academy player Felix Nmecha, who currently plays for Borussia Dortmund.

Berger reports that City has already reached out to Nmecha’s representatives. The 25-year-old German international is keen on joining the Premier League, although Dortmund is looking to extend his contract.

Dortmund faces challenges in the midfield, but with young talents like Nmecha and Jobe Bellingham, they can sustain their lineup as they develop their squad.

It may be difficult for Nmecha to turn down an opportunity to reunite with Manchester City. He did not play for City’s first team before moving to Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga, a similar path to Kevin De Bruyne. His strong performances there secured him a transfer to Dortmund.

Nmecha might not be on par with the elite starters City typically targets, but he could serve as a valuable rotational player, bringing ball progression and athleticism while also being familiar with Pep Guardiola’s system.
