Manchester United Interested in Chelsea’s Player After Elliot Anderson Setback
Manchester United is reportedly looking at Chelsea’s Andrey Santos after encountering difficulties in their attempts to sign Elliot Anderson.
United’s effort to find a replacement for Casemiro is gaining momentum as they explore various midfield options for the upcoming season.
While Anderson was a key target, his preference for Manchester City has led United to consider alternative players. They reportedly have a list of more than ten midfielders under review.
Santos has been added to this group, according to reports. The Brazilian midfielder spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest but made only 11 Premier League appearances. Forest opted not to activate their buy option.

Ben Jacobs, speaking on the United Stand YouTube channel, mentioned that Chelsea’s Andrey Santos is among the midfielders being considered.
He noted: “The only other name I’ve heard, which I’ll repeat from earlier talks about Garnacho, is Andrey Santos. Right now, I think it’s less likely than it was during discussions between Manchester United and Chelsea regarding Alejandro Garnacho because at that time, Santos was not getting much playing time. Now he’s working under a manager who knows him well from Strasbourg.”
“Consequently, Chelsea’s stance of not selling is likely to remain strong as the summer approaches.”
If both Anderson and Tonali are ruled out, Santos could become a key target for United.
Santos as a Potential Replacement for Casemiro at Manchester United
Manchester United has previously shown interest in Santos, viewing him as a promising young talent in the league.
His playing style is similar to Casemiro’s, especially in terms of tackling and ball control.
At 21, he has already made a name for himself in midfield. His work rate and ability to win duels would provide useful depth alongside Kobbie Mainoo and any new signings.
Although Santos is still improving, his skills align with the needs of United. He has the potential to become a key player in the league.
Given his early promise, United should consider pursuing him if he becomes available.
