The England national team has a rich history with players from Manchester United, dating back to legends like Bobby Charlton and the Class of ’92, and now including current stars like Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo.

Mainoo recently regained his place in the squad after being left out under coach Ruben Amorim, joining teammates Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw.

In addition to the men’s team, Manchester United also has strong representation in the women’s squad.

Maya Le Tissier, Ella Toone, and Jess Park frequently play for Sarina Wiegman’s Lionesses.

Today, the young Lionesses announced their call-ups for the upcoming March fixtures.

Jess Simpson, currently on loan at Southampton, has been selected to join England’s Under-23s for matches against France and the Netherlands.

For the Under-20s, three players from Manchester United have received call-ups.

The official England website confirmed that Jessica Anderson, Layla Drury, and Lucy Newell will represent the team in matches against Spain, the Netherlands, and Mexico.

This marks a significant change for Layla Drury, who previously played for Wales’ Under-17 national team.

Drury has switched her allegiance and will join Anderson and Newell, the latter currently on loan to Crystal Palace, for international duty.

It’s important to note that her switch will only be permanent if she plays for England’s senior team in the future.

For the youth squad, the upcoming games are scheduled to take place at the Albir Garden Resort in Spain from February 28 to March 6, 2026.
