Manchester United played their first match under interim coach Darren Fletcher and ended in a 2-2 draw against Burnley. Benjamin Šeško scored both goals for United in the match. Burnley took the lead in the 13th minute with an own goal from Heaven. However, United responded well and fought back to level the game. In the second half, they continued their strong performance and aimed for a win.
