Manchester United is reportedly showing interest in Nottingham Forest player Elliot Anderson. They are also considering his teammate Ibrahim Sangare, according to veteran journalist Steve Bate.

With Manuel Ugarte struggling this season, Mason Mount not finding his form, Christian Eriksen moving to Wolfsburg, and Casemiro approaching retirement, Manchester United needs new talent in their midfield.

Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba, and Anderson are notable options for Manchester United, which may sign two midfielders in the upcoming summer 2026 transfer window.

While Sangare hasn’t had the same spotlight as Anderson this season, he has performed well in his defensive midfield role, displaying composure during matches, including the recent Europa League game against Fenerbahce.

This season, Sangare averages three tackles and interceptions per game, with four total goal contributions and an impressive pass completion rate of about 88.7 percent.

The issue is that Sangare, at 28 years old, is past the prospect stage. He is primarily a defensive midfielder, effective at winning the ball and passing under pressure, but he lacks creativity and playmaking ability.

While he is a solid player, he is better suited for a mid-table club like Nottingham Forest rather than as a starting defensive midfielder for Manchester United. The club is likely to pursue players like Baleba or Joao Gomes instead.
