Two months have passed since Manchester United dismissed Ruben Amorim and appointed Michael Carrick as caretaker manager.

Currently, it appears they made a wise decision.

The former United midfielder faced competition from club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for the interim position, but Carrick ultimately won the role.

After ten games, their only loss remains a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle under Carrick’s leadership.

Carrick has brought stability to Old Trafford, placing The Red Devils in a strong position to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Initially, Carrick was meant to manage for the remainder of the season, while the club sought a more established manager in the summer.

However, Sky Sports reports that United has not reached out to any potential managers, with just two months left in the season.

The management believes there is no urgency to hire a permanent manager considering the positive performance under Carrick.

Out of the 30 points available during Carrick’s tenure, the team has secured 23, showcasing significant improvement compared to last year.

Therefore, it’s understandable that there is no immediate need to recruit an “elite” manager, with many supporters suggesting Carrick should be given the permanent position.

Initially, United was linked with Thomas Tuchel and Carlo Ancelotti, but both have since renewed their contracts with England and Brazil, respectively.

Another candidate, Luis Enrique, has also extended his position at PSG, yet these developments do not seem to pressure United into making a hasty hiring or attempting to lure a manager from another club.
