Marc Casado has been left out of Spain’s team
Due to a knee injury, Marc Casado has been left out of Spain’s team for their Nations League matchup against the Netherlands, raising concerns that he may be out for the season.
His removal from the La Roja squad during the international break has already been confirmed by the Spanish national team, and Aleix Garcia will take his place.

Following a clash with Antoine Griezmann on the field, the Spaniard tore his knee ligament. Hansi Flick instantly replaced him, substituting Eric Garcia for the central midfielder.
Tests show ruptured ligament in his right knee
Barcelona announced on Monday that the player had tests that showed he had ruptured the ligament in his right knee and that more tests will be performed to find out how serious his condition is.
The midfielder is expected to be out for at least two months, which essentially means that the young player’s season is done. Barcelona, who are competing for a treble in the 2024–25 season, will be looking at replacements for who can play the Casado role.
Thanks to Frenkie De Jong’s return from injury and the recent form he is in, this decision would be a no-brainer for Hansi Flick.
Casado had made 36 appearances in all competitions so far, scoring one goal and providing six assists, solidifying his position as a staple in Flick’s team.

Marc Casado has had a breakthrough season under Flick as he has done exceptionally well in the role that he is given.
Marc Bernal played in the 2024/25 pre season under Flick but unfortunately he got injured with an anterior crucial ligament tear(ACL) and was sidelined for the whole season, this was when Casado got the chance and he grabbed it with both hands.
He has not looked back ever since and has played a very important role in the double pivot with Pedri.
Due to the work rate of Casado, Barcelona are able to commit these numbers in attacking and work at such an efficiency. He has been the find of the season for Flick who has trusted him for major parts of the season even with big name replacements being available in the squad.
