Marcus Rashford is having an impressive season since joining Barcelona in the summer of 2025.
After his loan spell with Aston Villa, the Manchester United player made a dream move to Camp Nou.
So far this season, Rashford has netted 10 goals and provided 13 assists in 35 matches, contributing to Barcelona’s win in the Supercopa.
Currently, he is second only to Lamine Yamal in goal contributions, and a permanent move seems likely as Barcelona plans to activate his buy clause.
The season-long loan included an optional buy clause of £26 million, which is significantly lower than the £40 million agreed with Villa.
Rashford looks set to stay at Barcelona, although it has not been without challenges.
In September, Barcelona played against Real Oviedo, winning 3-1 at the Carlos Tartiere stadium.
During this match, Rashford took a corner kick in the 88th minute, which was headed in by defender Ronald Araujo to secure the victory.
Unfortunately, during the corner, Rashford faced racial abuse, with offensive insults being directed at him.
A nearby fan captured the incident, which was shared on social media and viewed millions of times.
Reports from FootMundo indicate that the 19-year-old fan responsible is now facing serious legal consequences.
The Public Prosecutor’s Office of Asturias is seeking a 15-month prison sentence for the individual.
Additionally, a fine of €2,880 and €2,000 in compensation have been requested.
While this is a prosecution request and not the final penalty, it highlights the aim to hold the offender accountable.
