Mason Greenwood is nearing his two-year mark with Ligue 1 club Marseille, having built a reputation for his goal-scoring skills during his time there.

At 24, he has scored 42 goals in 65 appearances across all competitions for Marseille.

He has also tied the record of Ballon d’Or winner Jean-Pierre Papin by scoring four goals in a single match.

Off the field, Greenwood has recently welcomed his second child with his partner, Harriet.

However, Marseille is facing challenges, having been eliminated from the UEFA Champions League, which has drawn criticism from the club’s management.

Reports indicate that Greenwood and Director of Football Medhi Benatia now ignore each other when they meet.

Benatia has openly criticized Greenwood both on and off the pitch.

Additionally, he is reportedly upset that Greenwood jeopardized a commercial responsibility last summer without considering the consequences.

L’Equipe also mentioned that Benatia expressed frustration towards club captain Leonardo Balerdi during a late-night meeting before a match against Paris Saint-Germain earlier last month.

With these developments, there may be increased interest in how supporters will react.
