In Major League Soccer (MLS), Lionel Messi delivered one of his standout performances today. On ‘Decision Day’, Inter Miami wrapped up their league season by defeating Nashville SC with a score of 5–2. The 38-year-old superstar scored a hat-trick and assisted in another goal.

With this, Messi’s total contributions for the season have reached 48. He is now just one goal contribution away from matching the all-time MLS record of 49 set by Carlos Vela in 2019.

Inter Miami set a new record this season by scoring 81 goals. They became the third team in MLS history to score over 80 goals. Securing the third seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, they have established themselves as the club’s strongest attacking side. Messi finished the season with 29 goals and 19 assists, putting him in contention for both the Golden Boot and MVP awards.
