Marcus Rashford is nearing the end of his loan at Barcelona, which started last summer.

The 28-year-old has made a significant impact, scoring nine goals and providing nine assists in 31 games across all competitions, helping Barcelona work towards their goals.

One of those goals is a strong performance in the UEFA Champions League, where Rashford has stood out this season with five goals and three assists.

Barcelona has not won the tournament in over ten years and could aspire for the trophy if they reach the quarter-finals or semi-finals. Rashford’s contributions will be important in determining the team’s success.

As the season approaches its end, some fans are considering Rashford’s future after his loan expires.

Barcelona and Manchester United have discussed a possible deal, but The Telegraph reports that if Michael Carrick becomes the permanent manager at United, he would prefer Marcus Rashford to return to Old Trafford.

Since Carrick took over as caretaker, Manchester United has won two games, including victories against Manchester City and Arsenal.

This has sparked discussions among fans about Carrick continuing in the role beyond the current season, when a new manager is expected to be appointed.

Carrick and Rashford were teammates at United in 2016 during Louis van Gaal’s management. Rashford also played in each of Carrick’s three games as interim manager in 2021, assisting in a memorable 3-2 win over Arsenal.

If Rashford returns to Old Trafford under Carrick, it would be a significant event for both the English international and the manager.
