Manchester United is experiencing fewer injuries this season compared to the past two years.
Under Erik ten Hag for the 2023/24 season, and later transitioning to Ruben Amorim, the team faced an extensive and shifting injury list.
This year, aside from a few minor injuries, most players have been fit and available.
Currently, the key players unavailable are Matthijs de Ligt and Mason Mount, who have not played under caretaker manager Michael Carrick.
In his press conference before the match against Everton at Hill Dickinson Stadium, Carrick confirmed both players will miss the game.
He shared updates on their recovery: “Mason’s getting closer. We’re being patient with him, and we don’t want to rush it.”
He added, “Mason is a vital part of the team, and we want him back fit as he can make a big difference for us.”
“Matthijs is making progress, but he’s a bit behind Mason, so we’re working with him to get him closer to returning.”
As a result, United will face Everton without these two key players. Everton aims to break United’s unbeaten streak under Carrick and mark a significant milestone.
It has been 12 years since Everton achieved a Premier League double over United, and they succeeded in winning 1-0 at Old Trafford last November, making it a possibility.
However, Everton will also be without Jake O’Brien and Jack Grealish for this match, missing two important players themselves.
