Michael Carrick has made a strong impact since returning to Old Trafford as caretaker manager.
The former Manchester United player has stepped in for the second time, taking over from Darren Fletcher, who managed the team after Ruben Amorim was dismissed. Carrick has won all three matches he has managed so far.
Victories against Manchester City, league leaders Arsenal, and Fulham demonstrate his determination as he finishes out the season.
Despite his recent success, Carrick has clarified that his position remains unchanged.
In a pre-match press conference before United’s game against Tottenham Hotspur, he talked about his current role, as noted by The Daily Mail. Carrick mentioned, “I’m enjoying my work. I feel at home here, but I know the situation and I’m staying grounded.”
He added, “Nothing has changed. It doesn’t affect how I approach my job or how I feel about it. I’m aware of my responsibilities.”
“We aim for success. I want the club to thrive, whether that’s with me or someone else. I can’t control that, but I’m focused on improving the team,” he said.
“Short-term results shouldn’t alter our strategy. If they do, then something is off. We’re focused on steady growth.”
“Football can change quickly, so we need to stay level-headed and concentrate on our tasks.”
