Michael Carrick, the interim manager of Manchester United, has expressed a desire to bring Marcus Rashford back to the club if he continues as head coach next season.
As reported by Jason Burt from The Telegraph, Carrick would welcome Rashford’s return, especially since the forward struggled to find his place under the previous coach, Ruben Amorim, only playing six times. Rashford had been loaned to Aston Villa, where he scored four goals and provided six assists in 17 matches.
This season, Rashford is on loan at FC Barcelona and has made a significant impact, scoring nine goals and providing 12 assists in 31 games, including five goals in eight Champions League matches.

Carrick Eager to Bring Marcus Rashford Home
The Telegraph also reports that Rashford, often recognized as a “unique talent,” would prefer to remain in Barcelona. Hansi Flick has the option to make his loan deal permanent for £26 million, but it remains uncertain if this option will be exercised.
In December, Rashford indicated his desire to stay at Barcelona, stating, “What I want is to stay at Barca. It’s the ultimate goal, but it’s not the reason I’m training hard and giving my all. The purpose is to win. Barca is a huge, fantastic club, built to win titles.”
The decision may hinge on the managerial situation at Manchester United. Carrick and Rashford share a history, having played at the club during different phases of their careers. If Carrick can make certain commitments to Rashford, it might encourage him to return to England.
Marcus Rashford’s Future
Rashford is contracted to Manchester United until 2028. His iconic number 10 shirt has been given to summer signing Matheus Cunha, leading to questions about his future at the club. Nonetheless, under new management, Rashford has the potential to excel. He possesses the talent and determination necessary to succeed again at The Theatre of Dreams, but only time will reveal his fate.
