Morgan Rogers remains a target for Chelsea, despite earlier indications that the club’s interest had diminished.
In December, discussions about a transfer cooled after the midfielder extended his contract with Aston Villa, leading to reports that Chelsea had moved on.
However, Fabrizio Romano has indicated that Chelsea is still monitoring Rogers’ situation closely.
Recently, another journalist provided updates that may excite those hoping to see him at Stamford Bridge next season.

On the Si Phillips Talks Chelsea podcast, Simon Phillips mentioned that there might be a release clause in Rogers’ new contract, which he signed in November.
This agreement keeps him at Villa Park until 2031, so Villa may have included a release clause or a gentleman’s agreement to secure his signature.
Given Chelsea’s current squad, Rogers would fulfill multiple roles. The left-wing position remains open, and manager Liam Rosenior may seek additional support for striker Cole Palmer.
Chelsea is also looking at Kenan Yildiz, who can play similar positions.
If Chelsea secures either player this summer, it may please supporters.
How Morgan Rogers has fared in the Premier League this season
Rogers began the season slowly but has regained his form with Villa.
He has played 25 league matches, scoring eight goals and providing five assists.
FotMob reports that Rogers has also created 31 chances and 10 significant opportunities. He appears to be a well-rounded No.10, and if Chelsea can sign him this summer, he could greatly enhance their team.
