The 2025 National Women’s Soccer League regular season will kick-start from 14 March to 2 November.

The playoffs of the competition will conclude on 22 November.
Orlando Pride are the reigning champions on both fronts, finishing first before going on to enjoy final success last November, narrowly finishing ahead of the Washington Spirit on both fronts.
NWSL 2025: Regular season dates
- 14-16 March 2025: Opening weekend
- 23 June-1 August 2025: Mid-season break
- 8-10 August 2025: Rivalry weekend
- 2 November 2025: Final regular matchday
A lengthy break has been given in between to accommodate big events like the European Championships and the Copa America Femenina.
Rivalry weekend is something new to the league, introduced ahead of this campaign, in order to bring some of the NWSL’s most exciting match-ups on the same game day.
One of the highly anticipated match-ups is the league’s oldest series as the Portland Thorns take on the Seattle Reign in the ‘Cascadia’ derby. There’ll be an East Coast battle between the Gotham and Washington Spirit, while SoCal drama unfolds as the San Diego Wave hosts Angel City.
The final weekend will see every single game kick off at the same time. Last season opted for a staggered approach in the run-up to playoffs, but the league have now revised that to revisit the previous format on popular demand.

The top eight teams will enter the playoff stage which will be played on the following dates:
- 7-9 November 2025: Quarter-finals
- 14-16 November 2025: Semi-finals
- 22 November 2025: Final

The primary transfer window is still open. Here are the key dates for transfer:
- 28 January – 24 March 2025: Primary transfer window
