Kannur: The painting work at Kannur Municipal Jawahar Stadium, the home ground of the Kannur Warriors Football Club in the Super League, is nearing completion. The south gallery has been painted in red and white, reflecting the colors of the home and away jerseys of the Kannur Warriors FC.
The painting of the north gallery and the Maradona Pavilion is yet to be completed, with work in the final stages for the north gallery. Two new goalposts for matches have been set up after the previous ones were damaged during last season’s district football league matches. Those matches were completed using temporary welding solutions. Additionally, two movable goalposts for training on match days have been constructed.
Work on floodlights, temporary dressing rooms, a medical room, and a media pavilion will begin next week. Matches are scheduled to take place in the first week of November, although the official date for the Super League has not yet been announced.
