Celtic is set to sell young striker Johnny Kenny in the upcoming summer transfer window, according to Football Insider and journalist Pete O’Rourke. The 22-year-old Irish forward is currently on loan at Bolton Wanderers in League One after finding limited playing time at Parkhead due to a crowded attacking lineup. Despite showing potential, Celtic expects to bring in several new players, which may push Kenny further down the pecking order. The club is open to either another loan or a permanent sale to reduce the squad ahead of the new season.

Johnny Kenny’s Future Uncertain as Celtic Prepares for Changes

This move aligns with a broader restructuring initiated by Martin O’Neill, who returned to manage the team during this transitional phase. The team has struggled with finishing from their main strikers this season, with midfielder Benjamin Nygren currently leading the scoring.

Kenny netted four goals and provided two assists in his fifteen matches before the club decided to loan him out. His departure allowed new signings Tomas Cvancara and Junior Adamu to step in and gain valuable experience. Since the club views acquiring a new top striker as a priority, Kenny’s future at Celtic looks increasingly uncertain as management considers his exit.
