Bangalore: Malappuram FC secured a draw against strong opponents Bengaluru FC in a friendly match as they prepare for the second season of the Super League Kerala. Both teams created several good chances but failed to convert them into goals. The match took place at Bengaluru FC’s training ground, the Center for Sports Excellence, featuring key Indian players like Sunil Chhetri, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, Suresh Singh, Rahul Beke, Mohammed Salah, Nikhil Poojari, Roshan Singh, and Chinglensana. They faced off against foreign players Ryan Williams, Bryan Sanches, and Salahheddine Bahi.
Malappuram’s goalkeeper, Mohammed Asher, delivered a standout performance with several excellent saves. He stopped multiple shots aimed at the goal from Bengaluru FC. The defensive lineup, including Hakku and Sanju Ganesh, also performed well throughout the match. Roy Krishna and Kennadi made some notable moves but could not find the back of the net. Malappuram FC’s first match of the season is scheduled for October 3, where they will face Thrissur Magic FC at their home ground, Payyanad Stadium.
