Real Madrid defender Dean Huijsen has significantly improved the team’s performance in the 2025/26 season. Although he missed the second leg of the Champions League match against Benfica, he is expected to be back for the Round of 16 against either Sporting CP or Manchester City.

According to COPE, Huijsen will be ready for the upcoming matches. He might return for the La Liga game on March 7 against Celta Vigo, although he will sit out the match on Monday against Getafe.

Real Madrid can manage without Huijsen against Getafe, but his presence will be key against the more attack-minded Celta Vigo. His return is especially important for the Champions League, particularly if Real Madrid faces Manchester City and their top players like Erling Haaland.

Despite facing difficulties earlier in the season against Atletico Madrid, Huijsen has become one of the most valuable players for the club. His reinforcement for the Champions League is critical, especially since Eder Militao, the other starting center back, is still unavailable for the matches against Sporting or Manchester City.
