Barcelona responded in the 38th minute when Fermín López scored from a pass by Marcus Rashford, leveling the game. However, Bellingham regained the lead for Madrid with a goal from a precise pass by Edar Militao.
At the start of the second half, Madrid had a chance to extend their lead with a penalty, but Barcelona’s goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny saved Mbappé’s shot. Despite this setback, Madrid maintained their dominance.
