Real Madrid faces further injury challenges, with Rodrygo ruled out for the season and Jude Bellingham still unavailable.
Kylian Mbappé did not attend training with Real Madrid on Tuesday as they prepare for a key Champions League match against Manchester City. Coach Álvaro Arbeloa commented that the French striker might return soon.
Mbappé has been sidelined since February 21 due to a knee issue, which also kept him out of Madrid’s victory over Benfica in the Champions League playoffs.
“He’s getting better. We have to take it day by day and monitor his progress,” Arbeloa said. “This week has been positive, and we are eager to have him back soon.”
Real Madrid announced that Mbappé did not train with the team, and given the circumstances, it would be surprising if he plays against City on Wednesday. Arbeloa had previously indicated he hoped Mbappé would return within days.
The uncertainty surrounding Mbappé adds to Madrid’s injury woes, as Rodrygo will miss the remainder of the season due to a knee problem. Additionally, Jude Bellingham has been out of action for over a month and did not participate in Tuesday’s training.
