Kannur: The Kannur Warriors football club welcomed its foreign players for the second season at the airport with the support group, Red Mariners. The first to arrive was striker Abdul Karim Samba from Senegal, landing at Kannur International Airport on Saturday night at 8:20 PM. Team manager Alfin greeted him with the team’s penant. Two fans wrapped a scarf around him while around 20 supporters waited at the airport. They welcomed him with chants and applause in front of a welcome banner.

On Sunday at 2:30 AM, midfielder Nidal from Tunisia arrived at Kozhikode Airport, and later traveled to Kannur by car. Spanish players Asier and Adrián landed at Kannur Airport at 5:45 PM. Many fans came to the airport, as these players had shown great performance in the previous season. From Monday, all four players will start training with the team.

The head coach and two foreign players will be joining the team. Training will be held at the Parade Ground in Kannur. Also, players from India are already with the team.

Who are the Red Mariners?

Red Mariners is an active supporters’ group of the Kannur Warriors football club, formed when the club was established in 2024. Fans are active both within and outside Kerala. They not only cheer for the players in the stadium but also participate in various community service activities. During the first season, when the home stadium was in Kozhikode, Red Mariners traveled from Kannur to support the team.
