Chelsea captain Reece James expressed confidence that his team could have won the Premier League London Derby against Arsenal, despite playing more than half the match with only 10 players.
The match at Stamford Bridge ended in a 1-1 draw. James praised the team’s performance, noting that they dominated play and handled pressure well after Moisés Caicedo received a red card. Chelsea took the lead with a header from Trevoh Chalobah from a corner by James, but Arsenal equalized in the second half through Mikel Merino.
James stated that Chelsea showed great resilience and controlled most of the game. He mentioned that while there is some disappointment in only earning one point, the performance sends a strong message about the team’s progress and ambitions this season.
Chelsea currently sits third in the Premier League, six points behind Arsenal. James emphasized that determination and tactical discipline are crucial for the team’s title challenge.
