Doha: Roberto Mancini, former manager of the Italy national team and Manchester City, is set to become the new head coach of the Qatari club Al Sadd. The 60-year-old will travel to Doha today to sign the contract after reaching an agreement with the club.

Mancini has accepted a contract that runs until the end of the 2025-26 season, which includes a special exit clause allowing him to leave the club during the summer of 2026. Current Qatar Stars League champions Al Sadd are struggling this season, sitting in sixth place with 14 points from nine matches. The club is also facing challenges in the AFC Champions League.

This marks Mancini’s return to club management after parting ways with the Saudi Arabian national team in October 2024 by mutual agreement.
