Wayne Rooney has praised Allardyce, reflecting on their time together at Everton.
Allardyce, who has been away from management for nearly three years, mentioned that the game has changed a lot since then.
On the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast, he noted that Moyes no longer wears suits during matches, which surprised him.
“Even Moyesy has got rid of his suits,” Allardyce remarked.
“That really upsets me, Moyesy, because you’re supposed to keep the tradition. I mean, ‘I’m the manager of Everton, not the coach, the manager, give me a suit’.”
Moyes recently received a booking for his celebrations after an equalizer against Brighton & Hove Albion, highlighting the differences in his approach compared to earlier in his career.
If he had still been wearing a suit at the Amex Stadium last Saturday, it’s likely he wouldn’t have shown as much emotion during what turned out to be another exciting day for Everton in their pursuit of European competition.
David Moyes aiming for better results at Everton
Since the beginning of the year, Everton has secured just one win in six matches.
In addition to their FA Cup loss to Sunderland, they have only gained six points out of a possible 15 in the league.
For them to compete for a European spot, this performance needs improvement.
The signing of Tyrique George should enhance their attacking strength, indicating progress for the team.
However, it remains uncertain if the winter transfer window addressed all their requirements, which will become clearer as the season unfolds.
