Tottenham will hire a permanent head coach after the season.
Igor Tudor has been appointed as the interim manager for Tottenham Hotspur, signing a short-term contract until the season ends.
This is Tudor’s first managerial role in England, and his main task is to keep Spurs out of the relegation zone by earning points in the Premier League. An added benefit would be advancing further in the Champions League, where they reached the round of 16 after finishing fourth in the group stage.
Tottenham’s decision to hire Tudor until the end of the season allows them to carefully consider their options for a permanent manager. Mauricio Pochettino and Roberto De Zerbi are reportedly the top candidates for this role. Additionally, Robbie Keane has expressed interest in becoming the permanent manager.
Sam Allardyce supports Robbie Keane amid Tottenham speculation
Robbie Keane has found success in Hungary with Ferencvaros, where he began managing in January 2025 and led the team to a league title. The former Spurs player, who has played over 300 matches for the club, is focused on helping Ferencvaros defend their title while also competing in the Europa League knockout stage.
Given the ongoing title race, Keane is unlikely to leave his position at Ferencvaros for a temporary role with Tottenham. His recent comments about not taking over at Spurs suggest he is committed to his current team.
Sam Allardyce has expressed confidence in Keane’s potential to manage in England. He noted that Keane’s achievements in Europe have earned him a chance in the Premier League. “Based on his success, he deserves a role over here,” Allardyce stated on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast.
Eddie Gray, a Leeds United legend and great-uncle to Archie Gray, also supports Allardyce’s view on Keane, stating that he is “as good a shout as anybody.”
