Angel City FC defender Savy King returned to play on Sunday at BMO Stadium for the first time since her collapse there 10 months ago.
King came off the bench in the 63rd minute of Angel City’s first match of the offseason, earning a warm welcome from the crowd. Angel City won the game against the Chicago Stars 4-0.
King collapsed during a match on May 9, 2025, and received about 10 minutes of medical assistance before being taken to the hospital. Doctors later found a heart abnormality, and she underwent surgery.
She missed the remainder of the 2025 season, but on Sunday, she made her return to the same field.
