Eli Junior Kroupi is rumored to be moving to Manchester United, making this signing important.

In the 2025 summer transfer window, Manchester United aimed to boost their attack, resulting in a notable increase in goals scored, totaling 47—12 more than last season.

Senne Lammens joined the club later in the window at a cost of £18.1 million and has impressed as a reliable goalkeeper.

Manchester United is considering a move for Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi.

Ben Jacobs shared with The United Stand that the club is monitoring Kroupi, who has emerged as a top young talent this season.

The 19-year-old has netted eight goals in the Premier League, including one at Old Trafford, and continues to attract attention.

Kroupi, a French under-21 international, is under contract with Bournemouth until 2030, potentially raising his price. Reports indicate that Chelsea and Liverpool are also interested in him.

However, even if Kroupi evolves into a leading striker, his £80 million price tag may not align with United’s budget, as the focus for summer 2026 lies in strengthening the midfield instead of adding more forwards.

Lammens deal sets the tone for Kroupi decision

Senne Lammens may provide insight regarding Manchester United’s considerations about Eli Junior Kroupi.

United signed Lammens for £18.1 million, showing that quality players can be acquired without massive spending.

Players like Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Sesko each cost over £60 million, making it unsustainable for United to maintain this level of expenditure for every signing.

Other clubs are successfully finding bargains, including Bournemouth, which initially identified Kroupi using their own network.

While a striker isn’t the top priority for United this summer, they still aim to enhance their front line by investing in a young player with growth potential.

Lammens’ success indicates that this strategy can be effective. Over the past year, United has increased its data-driven recruitment approach, likely having a list of affordable striker targets ready.

This may lead them to consider a less expensive option rather than pursuing Kroupi.
