Sporting Kansas City has extended the contract of left back Zorhan Bassong.
The 26-year-old Canadian defender’s new deal will last until 2028-29, with options extending to 2030-31.
“We are pleased that Zorhan has decided to commit to the club with this long-term extension,” said Sporting KC general manager David Lee.
“He is an experienced player who performs well, and we believe he has more potential to unlock. He possesses the qualities we seek in an outside back and can also play various positions on the field. His personality and leadership make him a key member of our team.”
Bassong has scored one goal and provided four assists in 51 matches since joining SKC before the 2024 season. He previously played for CF Montreal from 2021-22, along with professional experiences in Romania, Belgium, and France.
