Tottenham Prepares for Tough Match Against Newcastle United
Tottenham Hotspur will face Newcastle United in the Premier League on Tuesday evening, looking for their first win in the league since December.
Thomas Frank praised his team after a hard-fought 2-2 draw with Manchester City last week. However, just days later, Cristian Romero was sent off against Manchester United, leading to another disappointing match for Frank’s team, which lost 2-0 with goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes.
Missing Romero for four games is a significant setback for Spurs. Moreover, the team faced another challenge as another defender was injured during the match against Manchester United.
Thomas Frank Provides Injury Update Ahead of Newcastle Match
Destiny Udogie, who recently came back from a hamstring injury, played only 55 minutes at Old Trafford before needing treatment. He had to leave the match, paving the way for January signing Souza to make his Premier League debut.
In a press conference, Frank shared a mixed injury update about his squad, revealing both good and bad news. He provided an unfortunate update on Udogie’s condition while discussing Kevin Danso and Djed Spence, who have missed the last two league games.
“Unfortunately, Destiny has a hamstring injury, he will be out for 4-5 weeks,” Frank said, as reported by Football London.
“Djed Spence is back. Kevin Danso will take a few weeks. Kevin [Danso] is consulting with a medical expert. He is improving, but it will still be weeks before he is available.”
