Thomas Frank under pressure due to Tottenham’s poor Premier League performance.

Tottenham parted ways with Ange Postecoglou at the end of the last season after he led the team to its first major trophy in 17 years. The Australian manager achieved success by winning the Europa League and earning a spot in the Champions League for the current season. Despite this achievement, Postecoglou was replaced by Thomas Frank before the pre-season.

Frank promised to compete on multiple fronts this season, aiming to build on the previous year’s Europa League win. However, he has not met these expectations, with the team already out of domestic cup competitions and struggling in the lower half of the Premier League table.

Spurs have won only two of their last 14 league matches. Many supporters have expressed frustration, leading to calls for a change in management. During a recent away game against Burnley, some fans chanted for Frank to be removed after the team drew 2-2.

Tottenham may have to let go of Thomas Frank

Frank’s inability to secure positive results in the Premier League is making things difficult for him. In January, the team managed to earn just two points from five league matches against clubs like Burnley, West Ham, Bournemouth, Sunderland, and Brentford. There’s a growing feeling that time is running out for him to turn things around.

Journalist Sami Mokbel provided an update on Frank’s future, mentioning a crucial factor that could influence Tottenham’s decision. Speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day, he stated,

“At the very top at Tottenham, they want this appointment to work. If they didn’t, he would’ve been let go by now because their form has been terrible. They see potential in Frank but acknowledge he is facing challenges with the current squad.”

Mokbel emphasized that fan reactions are a key factor in this situation:

“Many fans have turned against him, and if he continues to struggle through February without any wins, the pressure will increase. This could leave Spurs with no choice but to act, even though they wish to support him.”

According to Mokbel, the Spurs management still backs Thomas Frank and wants his tenure to succeed. However, if fan unrest continues, the club may have to reconsider their position. Upcoming matches will be significant in deciding if he stays for the rest of the season.

Recent reports indicate that Spurs are exploring other managerial options in case they decide to replace Frank. They have shown interest in Roberto De Zerbi, who is reportedly considering resigning from his role at Marseille, which could open the door for his appointment at Tottenham.
