Kannur: Three players have been selected for the senior team from the three-day football camp organized by Kannur Warriors. The selected players are Basith P.P. from the Super League Kerala‘s Game Changer program, Muhammad Nasif K. from the Kannur District League, and Muhammad Sinan A.P., a player from Yenepoya University. All three are from Kannur.
The camp, held in the last week of August, saw ten players being shortlisted for the senior team, out of which five were included in the Kannur Warriors senior squad. Previously, two players, Arshad and Arjun, had already joined the team. Basith plays as a center-back for Kannur United in the district league. He has participated in competitions like the Youth Development League and Inter-Collegiate tournaments. He hails from Thottada in Kannur and is the son of Harris C., a player from the Kannur District Police. His mother’s name is Tafeer.
Muhammad Nasif is a midfielder who has played in the Kerala Premier League Second Division and the District Super Division for the Brothers Club. He is the son of Gaffur and Naseema from Thaliparamba. Muhammad Sinan represents Yenepoya University and plays as a winger and striker. In the 2023-24 season, he helped his university win the All India South East Championship, earning the title of best player with six goals. He has also played for Kannur United in the district league. He is the son of Saleem and Shahana from Kakkad Athayakunnu.
