Cole Palmer has become a vital player for Chelsea, with Tim Howard suggesting he could have a similar impact as Mohamed Salah did at Liverpool.

On the Unfiltered Podcast, Howard remarked, “I regarded him as potentially the best player in the Premier League. It may sound bold, but if you look back to a season and a half ago, when he scored over 20 goals, you realize he could be what Mo Salah is to Liverpool; Cole Palmer can be that for Chelsea.”

He stressed that both clubs are significant, making it reasonable to believe Palmer has the talent to be the best in the league. Howard emphasized that while Palmer has showcased his skills, the challenge lies in performing consistently.

Despite struggling with injuries, Palmer’s recent goal against Aston Villa brought his total to nine Premier League goals this season, highlighting his importance to Chelsea.

He has also forged a strong attacking partnership with Joao Pedro, who is among the league’s top scorers this season.

Chelsea is managing his fitness carefully, and he is likely to be rested for the FA Cup match against Wrexham.

Palmer’s next significant appearance could be in the Champions League Round of 16 against PSG, where another impressive performance could enhance his reputation further.
