Igor Tudor Still Winless as Interim Manager
Tottenham Hotspur’s search for a new manager continues as they struggle under interim coach Igor Tudor, following Thomas Frank’s departure.
Tudor Faces Pressure Amid Ongoing Search for New Manager
The Croatian coach was appointed to lead the team for the remainder of the season, but has managed just one point since taking over.
Initially, club officials hoped he would bring a quick turnaround, but he lost his first four matches in charge.
Many anticipated his dismissal after the match at Anfield, but a draw, thanks to his defensive strategy, kept him in position. Senior player Pedro Porro publicly supported him during this challenging time.
Nonetheless, the club remains focused on finding a permanent head coach, with Robbie Keane’s name frequently mentioned due to his success at Ferencvárosi TC.
Judit Berkesi Supports Robbie Keane’s Potential Move to Tottenham
Reports suggest that Keane is a strong candidate for the managerial role next season. His current club has indicated they would not hinder his potential move.
Sporting director Judit Berkesi acknowledged the possibility that Ferencvárosi TC could lose Keane if a significant opportunity arises. His success in Hungary has garnered attention from clubs across Europe.
Berkesi stated that the club is accustomed to losing coaches who have developed there and then moved on to bigger roles, as they have with Keane.
In comments to Sportemberk, via Transfer Insider, he said:
“This is the club’s achievement; we can sell not just players but also head coaches in recent cases. There is a chance this could apply to Robbie, despite him feeling happy here and having the support he needs.”
It remains to be seen what happens next. While Robbie Keane is a viable option who understands the club’s culture, he will face competition from candidates like Roberto de Zerbi and Mauricio Pochettino.
