Tottenham Aims to Strengthen Defense on Deadline Day

Tottenham Hotspur staged a remarkable second-half comeback to draw 2-2 with Manchester City at home on Sunday evening.

Spurs were behind 2-0 at halftime after goals from Rayan Cherki and Antoine Semenyo. The situation looked troubling as Cristian Romero had to be substituted due to illness, prompting Tottenham to switch to a four-man defense. This formation change provided more stability and allowed the team to press forward against Manchester City. Dominic Solanke scored twice, helping the undermanned Spurs secure a vital point against Pep Guardiola’s side.

Earlier in the day, Tottenham’s chances were hampered by injuries to Djed Spence and Kevin Danso. Micky van de Ven was also a doubt but ultimately missed the match. This left Spurs without several key defenders, including Kevin Danso, Ben Davies, Djed Spence, and Pedro Porro.

Consequently, Tottenham appears keen to bolster its defensive lineup before the transfer deadline.
