West Bromwich Albion is searching for a new manager as they aim to avoid relegation.

Currently sitting in 21st place in the Championship, they are close to dropping down, with Leicester City just one point behind, alongside Oxford United and Sheffield Wednesday.

Due to poor results, former manager Ryan Mason was dismissed on January 6, 2026, and James Morrison took over as interim manager.

Just five days later, Eric Ramsay was hired from Minnesota in the MLS to be the head coach.

However, West Bromwich Albion has now confirmed Ramsay’s departure after just a month.

The club stated: “West Bromwich Albion have parted company with men’s first team Head Coach Eric Ramsay.”

It was also mentioned that Assistant Head Coach Dennis Lawrence has left The Hawthorns.

“The club thanks Eric and Dennis and wishes them well in the future,” the statement added.

“First Team Coach James Morrison will manage the first team on an interim basis.”

This was Ramsay’s second head coaching role; he had previously served as assistant manager for the Wales national team and at Shrewsbury and Chelsea Under-23s.

After leaving Chelsea, Ramsay coached at Manchester United under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Ralf Rangnick, and Erik ten Hag.

Currently, it is unclear whether West Brom will seek a new manager or allow James Morrison to lead the team for the remainder of the season.
