The FIFA World Cup has an Intercontinental Playoff fixture. So far, 42 out of 48 countries have qualified for the World Cup. The remaining four teams will qualify from the 16-team European playoffs, while two will come from the Intercontinental playoffs.
In the current playoff semifinal, New Caledonia will face Jamaica at home. The winning team will then meet the African team, DR Congo, in the playoff final. In the second semifinal, Bolivia will take on Suriname at home, with the winner set to face the Asian playoff team, Iraq, in their final match. The team that wins the playoff final will qualify for the World Cup. Iraq and DR Congo, being ahead in the FIFA rankings, have received byes to the playoff finals.
