Bam Adebayo set a new personal record for points on Tuesday, achieving this in just 23 minutes of play. He finished the game with 83 points, marking the second-highest scoring output in NBA history.

The Miami Heat center scored 43 points in the first half during the Heat’s 150-129 victory over the Washington Wizards.

Prior to Tuesday, the Heat’s record for the highest-scoring quarter was held by LeBron James with 25 points. Adebayo scored 31 points in the first quarter, matching the previous franchise record for points in a half.

Adebayo connected on 13-of-24 shots before halftime, tying his personal best for made baskets in a game. He also shot 5-of-11 from beyond the arc, just one short of his career high. He broke the franchise record for points in a game (previously 61 by James) with a dunk at the end of the third quarter, matching Kobe Bryant for the most points scored through three quarters in the last 30 years.
